Candidate Sends DISTURBING E-mails After Assassination Attempt…

California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter sent a fundraising email with the subject line “F*** Trump” just 48 hours after a gunman opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where President Trump and the First Lady narrowly escaped an assassination attempt.

Email Sent During Federal Investigation

The Monday evening email, timestamped April 27 at 7:07 p.m., arrived while Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was announcing federal charges against the suspected shooter. Porter’s campaign message opened with a rally-style chant format and accused Trump of being “willing to kill people in the streets.” The fundraising appeal included donation buttons and a policy platform, closing with the same profane message that opened it.

Third Assassination Attempt in Two Years

On Saturday night, shots rang out in the Washington Hilton ballroom during the annual correspondents’ dinner. C-SPAN cameras captured reporters diving under tables as Secret Service rushed Trump and Cabinet members from the room. The suspect, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, a California teacher, was apprehended with a manifesto prosecutors described as filled with Democratic rhetoric targeting Trump. This marks Trump’s third assassination attempt since 2024, following the Butler, Pennsylvania shooting and a foiled ambush at his West Palm Beach golf course.

Officials Condemn Political Violence

Blanche warned that “violence has no place in civic life” and cannot be used to intimidate those serving democratic institutions. U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro stated “this is the kind of situation that we cannot tolerate” when discussing Allen’s actions. Porter, known as the “whiteboard lady” for her policy presentations, has not issued a statement addressing the timing or content of her campaign’s fundraising email. The message represents a stark departure from calls for unity following political violence that typically emerge from both parties after such incidents.
